Before coming to Florida

I lived in Valencia, Spain for several months where I took some Spanish literature courses. Really though, I moved across the Atlantic because I was hungry to travel and curious to learn how people live in other parts of the world. I have traveled to three out the seven continents. I've been all over Spain, took an 11 day road trip to France, a Roman holiday to Italy, explored Morocco and the Sahara in Africa and finally ended in London. I now feel that I understand the perplexities in this world a bit more and I cannot feel luckier to have gone through such a journey. And, I can't wait to do it again.

About Jacqueline

Jacqueline who is best known as "Jackie," graduated from Texas State University- San Marcos with a degree in journalism and a minor in the Spanish language. She transferred to Texas State from the University of Texas in El Paso.

As a native El Pasoan, Jacqueline grew up eating beans, rice and speaking Spanish with her mom. One of her favorite things to do is to embrace her Mexican culture and hit piñatas at her nieces' and nephews' birthday parties.

When not celebrating a birthday party, Jacqueline enjoys reading, running and Web building. Her favorite hobbies include rock climbing and running outdoors.

Journalism started

From the first time Jacqueline stepped into a journalism classroom in high school, she fell in love with the business and decided she would be a story teller. Jacqueline's work ethic has earned her scholarships that have helped pay for school and a couple of fellowships allowing her to work and live in Washington, New York, Sacramento, California and now the Tampa Bay area.

Pursuing the truth and informing the community has become her passion.
